Back lift surgery is a procedure that can create a thinner, more pronounced contour to the waist. This can be done as lower back lift surgery or upper back stretching and can make striking contour changes in the shape of the patient. The lower back stretching technique is generally applied as part of the lower body region. Excess skin and fat are removed from the lower back by lower back lift surgery. In upper back lift surgery, excess skin and fat is removed from the upper back and under the bra line area.
What Should Be Done Before Back Lift Surgery?
The point to keep in mind is that the back lift surgery process removes sagging skin after weight loss, the results are fast and striking. The back area looks firmer and younger. Typically, patients are advised not to eat anything on the day of the operation to prevent complications from anesthesia. To reduce the possibility of severe bleeding, patients should avoid inflammatory drugs (eg aspirin, ibuprofen) 1-2 weeks before surgery. Smokers are normally advised to quit smoking 30 days in advance.
How To Do Back Lift Surgery?
Back lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete. The incision for the upper back stretching is located within the boundary of the back of the bra worn during the marking step. This ensures that the incision and the resulting scar are concealed by the bra. For lower back stretching, the incision proceeds along the back of the hips, creating a natural, thin waist and high hips.
The first step of the process is to mark the incision lines. The doctor will mark the top and bottom of the bra. The exact placement of the line depends on the doctor’s analysis of the patient’s skin, but typically enters the lower half of the marked area, from the base of the right breast to the base of the back. This long cut ensures complete lifting without disturbing or stretching the remaining skin. After the incision line is drawn, the doctor adds several straight vertical lines to mark the points where the skin will be sewn together. This procedure ensures that the skin under the incision remains in the same position as the skin on the incision. The amount of excess skin to be taken depends on the condition of the patient. After providing sufficient tension to the back, the aesthetic stitches are discarded and the application is terminated.

Antibiotics should be used meticulously by the doctor. Exercises and sports should be avoided for 3-4 weeks after surgery. Healthy and balanced nutrition, smoking and alcohol should be avoided.
