What is Full Face Lift?

Full face lift is the process of improving the loose skin on the neck, the corners of the mouth, the jaw line and the deeper wrinkles on the face. Full face lift, also known as ritidectomy, can be combined with other stretching and aesthetic applications to improve fine wrinkles on the face. In addition, the full face lift can be an effective part of various applications to rejuvenate the aging face. The methods of full face lifting will depend on the individual, the excess skin and the overall face appearance.

What Should Be Done Before Full Face Lift?

It should be discontinued if smoking is used before full face lifting. Smoking has a serious effect on blood flow to the skin and causes blackening and injury of the skin areas on the face after surgery. Taking aspirin or painkillers containing aspirin should be avoided as this may increase bleeding after administration.

How To Do Full Face Lift?

Full face lift is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia with sedation. After anesthesia, the doctor begins to make incisions in front of the ears, around the earlobe and behind the ear to tighten the loose muscle and skin on the face. Excess skin on the face is then carefully removed and the incisions are meticulously aesthetically sutured to minimize scarring.  Full face lift process takes 2.5-3 hours on average.

What Should Be Done After Full Face Lift?

For several weeks, there may be numbness in the face and neck, and this may sometimes last longer. It is important to avoid any heavy exercise or lifting weights for 2 weeks after the application. Smoking and alcohol should be avoided until 2 weeks after the application. In order to minimize bruising and swelling in the treated areas, ice compresses can be applied several times a day without contacting the skin directly.  High pillows should also be preferred when sleeping. On the 3rd or 4th day following the application, the hair can be washed and dried gently.

Sutures around the ears are usually removed between 5 and 10 days after the application, depending on the size of the application.Cosmetic type make-up should not be done until 2-3 weeks after application. Avoid direct sun exposure for 1 month.
